For
Immediate Release
Florence,
Italy, 22 May 2008: The next Passion for Life collective
exhibition will be held from June 5-19, 2008 at the two Artemisia
gallery locations in Monte Carlo. The Passion for Life program
supports fundraising for the fight against cancer and other
important humanitarian causes, through the organization of
high caliber contemporary art exhibitions worldwide. The Passion
for Life program was founded by Antoine Gaber, both as an
impressionist artist painter but also as a cancer researcher
in drug development, focusing mostly in cancer treatments.
The Monte
Carlo Passion for Life exhibition will be supporting GEMLUC
Groupement des Entreprises Monégasques dans la Lutte
contre le cancer, with its fundraising activities. GEMLUC
was founded in Monaco in 1973 by Philippe Lajoinie, and Princess
Caroline de Hanovre is the Honorary President. Since this
time, the association has raised over 1.500.000 euros in funds
in support of the fight against cancer: donated to assist
cancer research, pay for scholarships for medical students
and medical products, and give care to cancer sufferers. In
each of the countries where Passion for Life has exhibited,
the funds raised have been fully and exclusively given to
the chosen local charity or association.
The main
objectives of Passion for Life are: to increase awareness
and early diagnosis of the disease and to fundraise in support
of research. As an example of some activities, in February
2007, Passion for Life fundraising art exhibition was held
at the Chetumal Maya Culture Museum, in Mexico, in parallel
several conferences were given by Antoine Gaber to increase
awareness about cancer worldwide, aiming at students of several
important universities. In June of 2007, in addition to Passion
for Life fundraising exhibitions in Volterra and Montecatini,
Italy, an exclusive fundraising Gala Dinner as a collateral
event, was organized in collaboration with the 15th Congress
of European Association for Psychotherapy at the Palazzo Budini
Gattai, in support of the Department of Hemato-Oncology, Meyer
Paediatric Hospital in Florence, with the special participation
of the famous Patch Adams the physician who brought humor
therapy for his patients into the hospital (Robin Williams
interpreted the role of Patch Adams in the 1998 movie).
In 2005, the Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea
of Florence joined Antoine Gaber as Artistic Partner, bringing
art to life in support of cancer awareness and research with
Gaber's International Passion for Life program. In December
2007, as one of the Florence Biennale collateral events, and
as a follow up from the last 2 years, Antoine Gaber was invited
as one of the key speakers to present a retrospective on his
Passion for Life international artistic fundraising initiatives.
The 840 artists present at the Biennale coming from more than
70 countries, numerous visitors, art critics, journalists
and Italian and foreign government officials, attended Gaber’s
presentation of Passion for Life. At the conclusion of his
presentation, Gaber announced the next Passion for Life International
event location to be held in Monte Carlo in June 2008, under
the hospitality of Ms. Mirella Setzu, owner of Artemisia.
The exhibition in Monte Carlo will take place at the two locations
of Artemisia (rue Princesse Caroline, 5 and in the avenue
Princesse Alice, 5 , from 5 - 19 June 2008.
The vernissage
will commence at the ARTEMISIA gallery rue Princesse Caroline
on Thursday 5th June at 5pm, to be followed by a fundraising
cocktail at 7pm at La Rose des Vents in Plage du Larvotto,
Monaco, organized by GEMLUC. This event will celebrate the
PASSION FOR LIFE exhibition opening and its support for GEMLUC.
Some of the artists will attend the event along with personalities
such as Michele Cucuzza and Amanda Lear who is also one of
the participating artists.

The "Passion
for life" program was initiated to continue to
increase the awareness of cancer but also to the need to raise
additional research funds to support our ongoing efforts to
fight cancer," said Antoine Gaber, Canadian Impressionist
painter.
"Passion
for Life" is an innovative and unique promotion,
even more, because it now leverages the art Comunittee around
the world with the significant support of the Biennale of Florence,
in addressing an important issue that is close to all of us
around the world. "I am extremely optimistic about our
futur success as with my Fellow artist from around the world,
we will join efforts to support the same cause". said
Antoine Gaber.

" Antoine Gaber's
" Passion for Life" initiative is amazing,
he has worked in Breast Cancer Research for many years contributing to
the development of several breast cancer drugs, and now he is using his
internationally recognized artistic talent to contribute to raise money
for cancer research and awareness. "
" Having worked for several years in cancer clinical research, Antoine's
passion for life and the well being of patients are reflected not only
in his clinical research work, and his art, but in the philanthropic causes
he supports. Antoine's vision and focus have always been toward making
our world a better one," said Professor Kathleen Pritchard,
from the Toronto Sunnybrook Cancer Center, Canada, and an internationally
renown breast cancer specialist.

About
the Artist:
Antoine Gaber unique combination as a cancer researcher, businessman
and as an internationally recognized artist painter, represents
careers that are opposite to each other, raising in several Countries
more and more media attention, however, Gaber continuously plays
a role in the advancement of art and science. In an incessant desire
for harmony, Antoine Gaber, his artistic works, his humanitarian
projects and his incommensurable dreams of communion with man and
nature contribute in unison to the working of his straightforward
mission: utilizing his talent to benefit a good cause. During his
various exhibitions held in several Countries, Gaber contributed
an important percentage of the sale of his artworks, and the profits
from the use of the imagery of his art to raise funds to further
support cancer research. Neither success nor notoriety can deter
the painter from his ideals.

"Passion
for Life" Artist Statement
As a medical
researcher, I have come to appreciate how precious life truly
is. From the journey faced by those fighting to overcome illness,
to the artistic endeavors I have experienced as I continue through
my journey of self-expression, one becomes acutely aware life
is more than simply existing. It truly is a celebration. If you
choose to embrace every day to the fullest; mixing it with a sense
of wonder and purpose, you, too, will discover your inner peace.
You, too, will realize your passion for life.

Critic comments about Gaber's artwork: Unedited quotes
Prof. John T. Spike,
Critic and Art Historian (New York), Director of Florence Biennale
"Antoine Gaber
is revisiting the impressionists with a fresh eye and his own sensibility.
Gaber has immersed himself in the glories of Impressionism. His brush
and heart are dedicated to making the art of the impressionists the art
of today.
Prof. Matty Roca,
Critic and Art Historian; Member of the International Art Critics Association
(AICA), (Mexico)
" Through Antoine
Gaber pictorial voyage, one encounters color, and nature with the Artist
own style of painting and brushstrokes. Self-taught artist, his starting
point is his interest in all "creative evolution of things"
and through his emotions and sensibility his interpretation of nature
and details, becomes alive.
The mastering of his
impressionistic style delivers in his art, the creation of contrast, tones,
ansd a special rhythmic dynamism of light and of shade, are without any
doubts, his strongest points.
The poetical reading
of his artwork provides a universe of internal peace and silence. One
can imagine being in a bucolic (pastoral) landscape filled with flowers
and, a pond dotted with water lilies that irrevocably leads in his profound
inhabited emotions felt during the creation of his paintings. "
